Higher SPF Means Better? – Pt 1

If you are embarking on a journey to make skin lighter, you need to know a couple of facts about the sun UV ray as it can greatly affect your skin and UV ray is one of the major enemies for bright skin and is the one to avoid at all cause. Don’t let this hamper your skin whitening development.

Our common understanding for the SPF is that, the greater the SPF value, the better is the protection from the sun. SPF actually is a short abbreviation for Sun Protective Factor and is an evaluation system for sun protective products
" In my opinion, it makes sense why most of the SPF rating only meant for UVB ray. Since UVB ray effects can cause ‘immediate' noticeable damages, the amount of sun burn is easier to be so-call quantified and ‘seen’ for the protection effectiveness "
( stipulated by the makers ) that measures how effectively it works against the sun. Unfortunately, the truth is not so if you happen to read the subsequent part of this story. First and foremost, let us not get confused but acquaint with the basic facts. For an example, SPF of 15 means an individual using the sun products can tolerate up to 15X longer under the sun without getting burn. Majority, in fact almost all of the SPF rating only meant for the UVB ray. The sunlight consists of UVA, UVB and UVC and generally all of them can harm your skin causing wrinkles and fine lines, one way of another or in later part of life. The UVC ray is the least to worry and also undisruptive as most of it is being absorbed by our ozone layer and the amount reaching to earth is insignificant. The UVA ray is known to lead to the potential of skin cancer. UVB ray is accountable for the ‘immediate’ noticeable damages on skin such as freckling, burning, and tanning whereas the UVA ray is the cause for ‘gradual’ damages with deeper skin penetration causing fine lines, wrinkles and also possibly cancer over time.

In my opinion, it makes sense why most of the SPF ratings only meant for UVB ray. Since UVB ray effects can cause ‘immediate' noticeable damages, the amount of sun burn is easier to be so-call quantified and ‘seen’ for the protection UV lighteffectiveness. For the insidious UVA, is another kind of story, the destructive effects are hard to be seen and ‘measured’ in such short period of time since the skin injuries are ‘progressive ‘ slowly over time.
Info - Men’s skin and women’s skin do not look and act the same. Men’s skin is thicker than women’s skin because it contains more of the structural proteins collagen and elastin
